New Cornell Street Will be Named After Chinese City

A new street in Cornell will be named after Huadu in China. The news was announced by the mayor at a council's meeting on November 25. Delegation from the Chinese city visited Markham earlier this week, but the relationship between Huada and Markham began more than 10 years ago, when councillors Alex Chui and Tony Wong travelled there. The delegation hopes the friendship between Huadu and Markham will be long-lasting and invited council and residents to visit and do business in their city.
